Overview
We are launching our 2025 Early Careers intake to join our growing and diverse business. This role involves inspecting castings, welds, and forged or wrought products using the methods for which certification has been achieved. The primary function is to ensure all products are tested in accordance with written procedures and fully comply with technical requirements. All inspection work must be recorded and certified using the NDT reporting system.

From day one, you should be prepared to engage actively, enjoy working with others, and also work independently. Effective communication is important, and maintaining high quality is a priority for our customers; your training programme will be diligently followed.
What do you do at Sheffield Forgemasters?
We manufacture some of the world’s largest steel castings and forgings, ranging from 1 to 350 tonnes. We produce a wide range of products for mills and presses, nuclear, defence, power generation, offshore oil and gas, and materials processing industries. This diversity offers opportunities across the business.
We have a long history within Sheffield spanning over 170 years. In 2021 we were acquired by the Ministry of Defence (MOD), marking an exciting time for our future. We have secured significant investment to support defence-critical assets, including plans for a new heavy forge line and building, a flood alleviation scheme, and major machine tool replacements.
