The Merchandising team at River Island play a key role in realising the commercial opportunities created by our unique product across all our channels. The Merchandising Admin Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the merchandising function. Responsible for ensuring up to date and accurate information is entered and maintained. Performing analysis and reporting on sales, stock, commitment, intake, markdown and margin as directed by the Assistant Merchandiser & Merchandiser.

Key Accountabilities
- Assists the merchandising team with accurate, concise analysis and administrative support to maximise profit throughout all channels.
- Demonstrates commercial awareness, participating in the stocking strategy across all channels and suggesting action or amendments when needed.
- Accurately manages allocation worklist, in line with agreement from the Assistant Merchandiser / Merchandiser.
- Accurately maintains Weekly Intake forecasts and provides relevant and accurate summary of Intake.
- Ensures promotions and markdowns are correctly actioned and maintained.
- Maintains accurate attribution within single view of product.
- Efficiently uses all merchandising systems and assists in creating new or improving existing material.
- Works cross‑functionally with internal teams (Core Merchandising, Distribution Hub, Buying) to identify improvements to ways of working and maintain consistent accuracy.
- Uses all available sources including regular store visits, sales and margin history and comp shops; discusses recommendations to positively impact performance.
Key experience required
- Entry level role; previous experience in retail or as MAA is desirable but not essential. A track record demonstrating good work ethic is a must.
- No specific qualifications required; just the ability to learn quickly and apply that learning.
