£12.84 Per Hour
Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) transports sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to our local hospital network. If you have a full driving licence with a C1 entitlement that allows you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), you could enjoy the benefits of joining the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity.
Qualifications
- A full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement, allowing you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes GVW.
- Basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation.
- Holding a driver digital tachograph card is ideal.
- Comfortable with manual handling – able to move transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250 kg.
- Excellent communication skills – acting as our unit’s ambassador and first point of contact for customers.
Responsibilities
- Collect and make deliveries by van or car to customers, driving 5.2T vehicles.
- Receive and check deliveries of medical devices from customers.
- Help keep equipment in good working order and report any faults.
- Keep a clean, tidy work environment and identify stock issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate tachograph records and documentation.
- Be flexible with your working hours – shifts operate between 4 am and 10 pm, Monday to Friday with varying times on Saturdays.
