Overview
ChoiceFacilities Services are seeking a passionate, hardworking and reliable individual to join our team as Domestic Assistant. The role involves maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in assigned areas using the correct cleaning methods, frequencies, materials and equipment, in line with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021. Cleaning is carried out in wards and departments throughout the organisation.
Main duties
- Carry out all cleaning tasks assigned, using guidance and training and checklists provided.
- Provide a beverage service to patients and visitors as required.
- Ensure equipment is fit for purpose before use and cleaned and stored after use.
- Use materials and consumables in accordance with laid down practices.
- Collection, segregation and disposal of waste materials, replacement of liners, in accordance with policies.
- Packing, sorting, delivering and collection of linen.
- Undertake manual and mechanical cleaning activities in line with the cleaning schedule.
- Ensure cleaning schedules are completed and checked daily.
- Refilling of all dispensers including soap, hand towels, toilet rolls and paper rolls.
- Provide emergency and ad hoc cleaning as required.
- Cleaning in close proximity to patients, including beds, windows, curtain rails, window ledges, tables and lockers.
- Work safely at all times, reporting any safety issues to the supervisory team.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
- Maintain cleanliness of entrances, work areas and grounds as necessary.
Hours: Mon-Fri 16:00–20:00 (20 hours); Mon-Fri 07:30–16:00 (35 hours); Mon-Fri 16:00–00:00 (37.5 hours); Sat-Sun 07:30–19:30 (21 hours).

Qualifications and Skills
- Basic numeracy and literacy
- Cleaning experience
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Ability to accept and prioritise instructions
- Experience with cleaning machinery
- Good understanding of cleaning services
- Experience in a healthcare environment
