Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team at Pan Asian Plaza in Southampton, ENG, GB. This full-time on-site position offers opportunities for career growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, with a focus on Japanese cuisine. This role involves crafting authentic sushi dishes in a vibrant restaurant environment, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and other Japanese delicacies
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used in accordance with food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi creations and presentation techniques
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for replenishment
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during food preparation and service
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent customer service
- Educate team members on sushi preparation techniques and uphold quality standards
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within a professional kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety protocols
- Experience working in a restaurant setting with a focus on Japanese cuisine is highly desirable
- Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety regulations, and serving procedures
- Demonstrated attention to detail and teamwork in a culinary or hospitality environment
Pay
£12.71-£14.05 per hour
