Responsibilities
- Drive safely and competently, observing speed limits and other traffic signs, and consider the needs of other road users.
- Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness (lights, brakes, coolant, etc.) and report faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- Maintain the interior and exterior condition and cleanliness of the vehicle.
- Ensure adequate fuel for the day’s work and maintain vehicle security at all times.
- Check orders on drop sheets and load all orders onto the vehicle; manage goods returned for credit and their safe return to the branch.
- Promptly deal with damages/breakages following special procedures for HazChems.
- Maintain a smart appearance and uphold good customer relations.
- Contribute to warehouse tasks and other duties as defined by management; comply with Health & Safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Essential: Full driving license appropriate to the vehicle driven; we assess license points and may consider them in shortlisting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer care.
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy.
- Desirable: Prior experience in multi-drop delivery driving and route planning experience.
