Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children within Nursery and Reception who have additional needs, including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication skills, and feel supported within a nurturing early years environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support within Nursery and Reception
  • Supporting children with a range of SEND needs
  • Assisting with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Working alongside the class teacher and SENCo to implement EHCP targets
  • Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEND (EYFS experience desirable)
  • Patience, nurturing, and proactive attitude

This is a full‑time, long‑term position starting in September 2026, with the potential to become permanent. Competitive daily rates are offered.
