MENSWEAR BUYER / MERCHANDISER – fashion brand house

Central Manchester

Up to £60,000 + Benefits

Are you an experienced Menswear Buyer or Merchandiser with a passion for streetwear, sportswear and product development? This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving fashion brand house, working across both in-house brands and major retail accounts.

You’ll play a pivotal role within a highly collaborative product team, managing collections from concept through to delivery while working with some of the UK’s biggest retail names and exciting contemporary brands.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Directors, you’ll join an established commercial team alongside:

2 Garment Technologists

Senior Product Development & Merchandising team

Logistics and Finance support

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role offering genuine ownership and the chance to influence product strategy across both retail and branded collections.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through to delivery.

Build and develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.

Take seasonal briefs and work closely with Design and Technical teams to create commercially successful collections.

Negotiate pricing and manage supplier relationships.

Oversee critical path management, sample development and production timelines.

Present collections to customers alongside the Directors and Design team.

Raise purchase orders and manage order summaries.

Monitor product costs and maintain supplier communication throughout production.

Lead regular product review meetings with cross-functional teams.

Ensure products meet all compliance, testing and quality standards.

Work closely with Logistics to manage approvals, packing lists and shipping schedules.

Balance production across the supplier base to maximise efficiency and capability.

In-House Brand Responsibilities

Alongside customer accounts, you’ll also:

Manage seasonal collections from concept to launch.

Control option counts based on sales history and growth plans.

Work with factories on fabric and fit development.

Collaborate with Marketing and Design to deliver seasonal sales assets and imagery.

Produce weekly Free-to-Sell reports.

Analyse wholesale and e-commerce performance, identifying opportunities for repeat orders and stock replenishment.

Support seasonal planning through sales and trend analysis.

Partner closely with the Sales team on weekly trading performance.

What We’re Looking For

✔ Experience in Buying, Merchandising or Product Development within menswear, sportswear or streetwear.

✔ Strong understanding of critical path management and garment production.

✔ Experience working with retailers, brands or both.

✔ Excellent commercial awareness and product knowledge.

✔ Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

✔ A confident communicator who enjoys building long-term relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
