Job Description:

Casing & Tubing Running Operator (or TRS Technician) safely operates hydraulic power tongs, computerized torque monitoring systems, and handling equipment to make up and run casing/tubing strings on oil and gas rigs. They are responsible for rigging up/down equipment, ensuring proper connection integrity, and performing maintenance.

Oil and gas offshore field experience required with a focus in Tubular Running Services (TRS).

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in using TRS tools, equipment calibration, and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of oilfield tubular products (casing, tubing, drill pipe).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, strong judgment and decision-making to be in line with policies and procedures.
  • Good time management.
  • Able to meet the physical demands that the role requires.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts, and travel to remote locations as required

Key Responsibilities / Equipment Operation:

  • Manipulate manual and hydraulic power tongs, CRT (Casing Running Tools), and handling equipment.
  • Make-Up and Torque: Ensure precise connections on casing and tubing, adhering to API and premium-thread torque-turn parameters.
  • Rigging: Perform rig up and rig down of specialized tubular running services (TRS) equipment. Ensure proper rig-up/rig-down of equipment following strict work instructions and safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, within the physical demands of the role
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and presentable work environment at all times.
  • Provide on-site support to the Field Supervisor, ensuring adherence to Company’s quality standards and client expectations
  • Safety & Compliance: Monitor “red zone” areas, ensure compliance with safety policies, report near-misses, and perform “hands-free” operations when possible.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA); report issues promptly using company reporting tools.
  • Maintenance: Conduct repairs and daily maintenance of tools, including power tongs and hydraulic power units.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of tubular products (casing/tubing sizes, grades) and torque monitoring systems.
  • Physical Strength: Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs) and work in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
  • Communication: Effective communication with the rig crew and company man.
