Roles & Responsibilities
You will guide young people through core curriculum subjects with a specialized focus on Economics up to A-Level. In this role, you will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and exam preparation.
- Develop engaging learning resources adapted to individual student paces, from mainstream learners to those requiring SEN or SEMH support.
- Teach the foundational quantitative and mathematical concepts required for upper-level economics.
- Provide constructive feedback, assess progress, and confidently prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
- Collaborate with school staff to foster a patient, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment.
What you’ll need:
- A relevant degree in Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a recognized teaching qualification is highly desirable.
- Deep knowledge of Micro/Macroeconomics and proficiency in teaching the required mathematical frameworks.
- The ability to simplify complex economic theories for learners aged 5–19.
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Proven classroom teaching or high-level tutoring experience within the UK school system (SEN/SEMH experience is a distinct advantage).
- Based in or able to commute to schools across Buckinghamshire (e.g., Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes, Amersham).
