Job Title: Structural Repair Engineer (Stress)
Job Description:
The job holder is responsible to ensure the timely return-to-service for the commercial Aircraft by providing an optimal structural repair solutions considering the time & cost aspects. This has to be ensured from a design and/or stress perspective for product Safety by engaging the right stakeholders.
Key Technical skills and Responsibilities:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace or Mechanical)
- 8 to 10 years of experience in wing In-service repairs
- Understanding of in-service and operator requirements
- Experience in wing repairs – Provide Stress justification to in-service damages (accidental and aging).
- Find correct data (Example: Stress Aircraft Certification Documents, Stress Technical Reports etc) to assess aircraft damage/repair.
- Perform hand calculations for stress analysis to evaluate repair solutions as per Airbus Standards.
- Preparation of Technical Disposition (TD), SAS and TAS.
- Sound knowledge in SRM chapters and repair principles.
- A/ C materials, fastener types and rules.
- A/C Design Principles and Good knowledge in wing structure and load paths
- Experience in handling Airbus documentation (Drawings, Technical notes, Manuals, Service Bulletin, SRM, …)
- Knowledge of the repair process in TRM.
- Interacting with Stress DTRs (Signatories) for any technical clarifications and decisions on different repair proposals
- Working with a global team that requires virtual collaboration.
- Coordinating with offshore stress resources for technical clarifications, data transfer and knowledge sharing
- Ensure repairs are done on time, maintaining aircraft safety.
