Claims Executive – Financial Lines (Qualified Lawyer Experience Required)

n

12-Month Fixed Term Contract

n

Leeds or London | Hybrid Working

n

Full-Time | Part-Time | Flexible Working

n

Competitive Salary Package & Bonus

n

Haggerty Jaques is keen to speak to qualified lawyers who are looking for something different from the norm and are available to cover a period of maternity leave within a specialist complex insurance claims team.

n

The Opportunity

n

Instructed by our market-leading corporate insurance client, we are looking to recruit a qualified lawyer into a Claims Executive role that makes use of key legal skills and experience but in a completely different capacity.

n

If you’re ready for a change, this could be the perfect opportunity.

n

You’ll be managing high-value and often high-profile Financial Lines insurance claims for a sophisticated portfolio of corporate and financial institution clients.

n

Acting as a trusted adviser throughout the claims journey, you’ll work closely with insurers, solicitors, loss adjusters and other stakeholders to secure the best possible outcomes for your clients.

n

This is not a role in which you will advise on the law or legal processes; instead, it is an opportunity to use your legal knowledge, commercial judgement and relationship management skills in a client-facing advisory role.

n

There will still be plenty of similarities with legal practice:

n

    n

  • You’ll work with sophisticated, City-based corporate clients with long-standing relationships. You’ll manage complex, high-value claims from notification through to resolution. You’ll build trusted client relationships and become a key adviser throughout the claims process. You’ll collaborate with specialist colleagues and provide technical guidance where appropriate. You’ll work within a highly experienced and supportive team handling technically challenging matters.
  • n

n

What makes this role different is that:

n

    n

  • You’ll gain expertise within a fascinating area of the insurance market. You won’t record billable hours. Workloads are far more predictable, allowing you to manage your time effectively. You’ll enjoy genuine work-life balance in a collaborative environment with no long-hours culture.
  • n

n

The Ideal Candidate

n

This role would particularly suit current or former lawyers who enjoy working closely with corporate clients and are looking to apply their legal expertise in a different way.

n

Whilst qualified lawyers are of particular interest, we’d also be pleased to hear from candidates with experience in Financial Lines claims, underwriting or loss adjusting who are looking for a client-focused advisory role.

n

Experience of Directors’ & Officers’ (D&O) insurance would be advantageous but is by no means essential.

n

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

n

    n

  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills. Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities. A proactive, collaborative approach. A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding client service. Good Microsoft Office skills and a broad understanding of the insurance market.
  • n

n

You can be based in or around Leeds or London, where our client’s offices are located. Hybrid working is offered, although regular office attendance will be required.

n

What Else Should You Know?

n

This role will cover a team member’s forthcoming maternity leave and it is hoped the successful candidate will join in November to allow for a comprehensive handover, although an earlier start may also be possible.

n

Importantly, there is genuine potential for the role to become permanent as the business continues to grow.

n

Training is tailored to each individual and begins from day one. You’ll receive excellent support from a highly experienced and welcoming team, many of whom have successfully made the same move from legal practice into insurance.

n

Employee wellbeing is genuinely valued here and the culture is fun, friendly, supportive and collegiate.

n

In return, you’ll enjoy:

n

    n

  • Exposure to complex, high-value and often high-profile corporate claims. Structured onboarding and ongoing professional development. Flexible and hybrid working. A collaborative, highly respected team environment. Competitive salary, bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • n

n

Haggerty Jaques is exclusively instructed on this role.

n

Any references to PQE are provided purely as a guide and should not deter candidates with the relevant skills and experience from applying.

n

Haggerty Jaques is committed to promoting equality and diversity. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of background.
