About the role

n

The Senior QA Engineer is a key member of the Technology team, responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and scalability of a modern, microservices‑based platform used across the financial services sector.

n

This role has a strong focus on test automation and quality engineering, playing a pivotal part in shaping test strategy, improving test coverage and accelerating delivery across the software development lifecycle.

n

Working within a cross‑functional Agile delivery squad, you will collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners and DevOps to embed quality early and ensure solutions are robust, release‑ready and aligned to business goals.

Responsibilities

n

·       Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of automated test frameworks

n

·       Build and maintain automated test suites covering API, integration and UI scenarios

n

·       Contribute to and support CI/CD pipelines, enabling fast, reliable and repeatable deployments

n

·       Define and execute test strategies aligned to Agile delivery and modern engineering practices

n

·       Partner closely with Engineering and DevOps teams to improve test effectiveness and coverage

n

·       Analyse, log and clearly communicate defects, risks and test outcomes to stakeholders

n

·       Perform targeted manual testing for complex, exploratory or high‑risk scenarios as required

n

·       Use SQL to validate data, support end‑to‑end testing and assist with troubleshooting

n

·       Review requirements, user stories and technical designs to ensure testability early in the lifecycle

n

·       Maintain clear, up‑to‑date test documentation and release readiness reporting

n

·       Actively contribute to improving QA practices, tools and processes across the wider team

About you

n

·       Strong experience in software testing of web-based applications.

n

·       Have a good understanding or experience with the project lifecycle and deployment of commercial web applications.

n

·       Knowledge on UI automation tools like Selenium.

n

·       Good experience in API testing using Swagger.

n

·       Experience with software tools for planning and tracking the workflow of test cases and new project work.

n

·       Previous experience working within an Agile environment.

n

·       Must be eager to learn with a technical mindset.

n

·       Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

n

·       Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation skills.

n

·       Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment, working towards tight deadlines.

n

·       Any related testing qualifications would be advantageous.
