Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist in Acute Care Adult Mental Health to join the well-established multidisciplinary team based at the Ablett Psychiatric Unit in North Wales.
n
This role covers inpatient acute care and Home Treatment Team (HTT) services across Conwy and Denbighshire, providing consultant leadership within a collaborative and supportive acute care model.
n
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced consultants, Approved Clinicians, trainees, psychologists, pharmacists, occupational therapists, and nursing teams delivering high-quality patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:

- n
- n
Provide consultant leadership across acute inpatient and HTT services
- n
Deliver psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and risk management
- n
Act as Responsible Clinician for acute mental health patients
- n
Support multidisciplinary team leadership and clinical supervision
- n
Participate in Mental Health Act work and tribunal attendance
- n
Contribute to teaching, governance, audit, and service development initiatives
n

What We’re Looking For:

- n
- n
Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
- n
MRCPsych or equivalent
- n
Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT)
- n
Section 12 Approval
- n
Approved Clinician status or eligibility
- n
Experience working within acute adult mental health services
n
n
