Deputy Manager – Children & Young People

Location: Westbury, Wiltshire

Salary: £46,064 – £52,852 per annum (assuming good attendance)

About the Role

SEND Inclusion Support is supporting one of our clients, a leading provider of specialist residential care for children and young people, in the recruitment of a Deputy Manager for one of their Children’s Homes in Westbury. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Working alongside an experienced management team, you will help create a safe, nurturing and structured environment where young people can thrive, develop resilience, and achieve positive outcomes. As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the home, supporting staff, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring the home operates in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of residential childcare professionals.
  • Ensure high-quality, child-centred care is delivered at all times.
  • Promote positive outcomes for young people with SEMH and additional needs.
  • Support safeguarding, behaviour management and care planning processes.
  • Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with staff supervision, training and performance management.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families and external professionals.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within residential childcare, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England).
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this qualification, which can be provided).
  • A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.

Salary & Financial Benefits

  • Salary of £46,064 – £52,852 per annum (assuming good attendance).
  • Attendance allowance of up to £1,400 per year.
  • Regional allowance of £2,000 per year.
  • £1,000 Welcome Bonus upon successful completion of probation.
