Senior Site Manager
Location: Greater Manchester (Multi-site)
Salary: £40,000 – £46,000pa DOE
Plus local government pension scheme, and excellent holiday allowance
Our client, a fast-growing Multi Academy Trust in Greater Manchester, is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager to join its expanding central estates team.
This newly created role has been introduced following rapid organisational growth and offers a unique opportunity to support multiple schools across the Trust, ensuring safe, compliant and well-maintained learning environments.
Rather than being based at a single site, you’ll work across a portfolio of schools, providing hands-on operational support wherever it’s needed most.
The Role
Reporting to the Estates Operations Manager, you’ll provide practical estates and facilities management support across multiple school sites, helping maintain high standards of health and safety, compliance and site presentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing operational site management cover across multiple schools
- Supporting schools during staff absence, vacancies and periods of increased demand
- Carrying out health and safety inspections and compliance checks
- Undertaking minor maintenance, repairs and fault finding
- Supporting contractors and overseeing small estates projects
- Assisting with planned and reactive maintenance works
- Ensuring school sites remain safe, secure and compliant
- Building strong relationships with school leaders, site teams and contractors
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in site management, facilities or estates maintenance
- Strong practical maintenance skills and a hands-on approach
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance
- Experience working across multiple sites or within complex operational environments
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different locations
IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications would be advantageous, although practical experience is equally important.
Experience within education is desirable but not essential. Candidates from facilities management, healthcare, local authority, housing, universities or other multi-site organisations are encouraged to apply.
What’s on Offer
- Brand-new role within a growing estates team
- Opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of schools
- Varied and rewarding role with no two days the same
- Competitive salary and excellent pension
- Long-term career development within a growing organisation
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Site Manager who enjoys variety, takes pride in maintaining safe and well-presented environments, and wants to play a key role supporting a growing multi-site organisation.
