Client Overview
Our client is a well-established manufacturer that are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their engineering team, supporting the design, development and continuous improvement of innovative retail products. This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop commercial retail refrigeration equipment using SolidWorks 3D CAD.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical documentation and design change records.
- Design manufacturable sheet metal components and assemblies for production.
- Work closely with UK and overseas suppliers to support manufacturing, resolve technical queries and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and day-to-day engineering activities.
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities and relevant engineering standards.
- Support product testing, compliance activities and development laboratory projects where required.
Skills Required
- Proven experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD within a manufacturing or product design environment.
- Strong sheet metal design experience and the ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail with engineering documentation and technical drawings.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Good project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience within commercial refrigeration or a related manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of refrigeration systems and associated engineering principles is advantageous.
