Job Description:

Senior Procurement Manager | 6 month Fixed Term Contract

Greater London | Hybrid |

We’re working exclusively with a well-established UK organisation to appoint an experienced procurement leader to join them during a significant period of business transformation.

This appointment offers the opportunity to lead an established procurement function, support an experienced team and play a key role in improving procurement processes, supplier governance and stakeholder engagement across the business.

This is a hands-on leadership role where success will be measured by your ability to build relationships, develop people and simplify ways of working, rather than purely delivering commercial savings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop an established procurement team.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and position Procurement as a trusted partner.
  • Review and improve supplier onboarding and compliance processes, ensuring they remain proportionate, efficient and effective.
  • Develop practical sourcing and supplier engagement processes that support operational delivery.
  • Partner with IT and internal transformation teams to improve end-to-end procurement processes and maximise existing systems.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve governance and embed consistent ways of working.
  • Provide visible, supportive leadership during a period of organisational change.

About You

You’ll be an experienced procurement leader with a collaborative leadership style and a genuine passion for developing people.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience leading procurement teams within a labour-intensive operational environment such as facilities management, infrastructure, construction, utilities, environmental services or similar.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build credibility across all levels of the business.
  • Experience improving procurement processes, supplier onboarding and compliance.
  • A pragmatic, customer-focused approach to procurement that balances operational requirements with effective governance.
  • Experience supporting business transformation or process improvement initiatives.
  • A coaching leadership style with high emotional intelligence and the ability to bring teams through change.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leaving organisations stronger than they found them by developing people, improving processes and creating a procurement function that genuinely supports the wider business.
