MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS
- As a Lead Platform Engineer (Consultant) in Kainos, you’ll be responsible for leading teams
to design, automate, build, manage and optimise modern digital service platforms. It’s a fast-paced environment and you’ll be trusted to make sound, reasoned decisions. You’ll

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to simply and
clearly communicate technical design (or significant portions thereof) in
technical audience
- We all work in teams here in Kainos – You’ll need a proven experience of team
complex projects
- Significant expertise in:
o Designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring
- and/or operating, enhancing and improving reliability of modern digital
o Using the latest Continuous Delivery and automation techniques for
- releasing operationally ready software to production, including
platform orchestration through the use of multiple configuration
management tools
- Demonstrable experience in:
o Building and/or supporting modern digital service platforms to include
- architecture, design, estimation, planning and iteration on MVP using a
o Championing best practice use of Site Reliability Engineering tooling,
- techniques and processes to manage and improve existing platform
services. E.g. monitoring, platform modernisation and cost optimisation.
DESIRABLE
- Obtained certification with a public cloud provider (AWS/Azure)
• Obtained certification relating to a particular area of specialisation e.g. Kubernetes
