Lead Data Engineer – Python, Snowflake, dbt – FinTech Platform
Our client, a fast-growing fintech, is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to play a key role in shaping the next generation of its cloud data platform. This is an opportunity to lead the design and delivery of scalable data infrastructure that underpins real‑time products, analytics, and AI‑driven capabilities, while influencing technical direction and engineering best practices across the team. You’ll join a collaborative, engineering‑first environment where you’ll have genuine ownership, work with modern technologies, and help build a platform that supports the company’s continued growth.
Tech Stack: Python, SQL, Snowflake, dbt, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow (or similar orchestration tools), with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and observability.
Requirements
- Strong Python engineering experience, including software engineering best practices, testing, and CI/CD.
- Deep expertise in SQL, data modelling, and building scalable cloud data platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and dbt in production environments.
- Experience designing and maintaining robust data pipelines and event‑driven architectures.
- Good understanding of distributed systems and real‑time data processing, with Kafka experience highly desirable.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence engineering standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
