Apps Integration provide essential technical development and support functions to internal and external stakeholders in the ever‑increasing world of Apps.
As a Principal CI/CD & Automation Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies for streaming and web applications. You will play a critical role in building a new function within the team, driving best practices, and enabling scalable, high‑quality software delivery.
You will be expected to bring deep expertise, operate autonomously, and influence both technical and operational direction.
What you’ll do
- Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines across web applications.
- Define and deliver end‑to‑end automated testing strategies covering UI, API, integration and performance testing.
- Develop scalable automation frameworks and advanced Python‑based automation solutions.
- Embed testing within CI/CD pipelines to maintain quality gates and support reliable software releases.
- Create dashboards and reporting solutions to track quality metrics, test coverage and pipeline performance.
- Analyse test and pipeline results, providing actionable insights to stakeholders to drive quality improvements.
- Partner with engineering, product and cross‑functional teams across multiple territories to promote DevOps, testing and automation best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and play a key role in establishing and growing a new automation and quality engineering function.
What you’ll bring
- Strong Linux expertise, including containers, scripting, version control, branching strategies, release management, and troubleshooting complex automation and pipeline issues.
- Proven experience designing, building and leading CI/CD implementations in production environments using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and Azure DevOps.
- Advanced Python scripting skills, with additional programming languages considered advantageous.
- Strong experience delivering test automation for web applications at scale using modern frameworks including Playwright, Cypress and Selenium.
- Deep understanding of testing strategies across unit, integration, system and end‑to‑end (E2E) testing.
- Experience designing and developing reporting dashboards and visualisation solutions using tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Power BI or custom‑built platforms.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience working within streaming, video platform or other large‑scale web environments.
- Knowledge of cloud and container technologies, including AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Expertise in API and performance testing, with experience implementing AI‑driven testing and integrating AI/ML into QA practices.
- Leadership experience, including guiding teams to deliver testing solutions, collaborating across multiple teams or territories, and using monitoring and troubleshooting tools to diagnose complex issues.

How you’ll work
We’ve adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 2 days in the office per week.
Your office base – Osterley
The company Group HQ is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology and workspaces. There is ample space to bring your ideas to life, including subsidised restaurants and cafés, a gym, a cinema, a car‑wash and a beauty salon.
Our Osterley Campus is a 10‑minute walk from Syon Lane train station, or you can use free shuttle buses from Osterley, Gunnersbury and Ealing Broadway stations. There is also free on‑site parking for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.
