Apprentice Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Department at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Apprentice Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technicians are vital members of today’s healthcare team and contribute greatly to the supply of medicines and products to patients.
This is an advanced apprenticeship that combines on‑job training with study to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
Qualifications
- GCSEs: Maths C, English and Science (at C or above) and three other subjects at a minimum of grade C.
- Pharmacy Services QCF Level 2 or equivalent with 12 months current experience.
- Functional skills level 2 qualification in Maths and English (equivalent to C grade or 4).
Employment Terms
- 2‑year fixed‑term full‑time contract.
- Monday to Friday, with weekend and bank holiday work on a rota basis.
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
- Salary:
- Year 1 – 70% of top scale of Band 4.
- Year 2 – 75% of top scale of Band 4.
- New for 2024, NHS Agenda for Change Annex30 section means existing NHS employees will not suffer detriment to their basic pay when they undertake apprenticeships as part of agreed career development.
