Overview
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual to join the Acute Frailty Hub within the Intermediate Tier Service Division as a Healthcare Assistant. Under the direction of the Sister/Charge Nurse you will help ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care for patients under direct supervision of a registered health professional.
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients.
- Perform a range of clinical duties and tasks, ensuring actions are undertaken following appropriate training and within competence.
- Provide training, direction and supervision to junior staff.
- Assist with infection control and safeguarding processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supporting Quality Improvement, audits, research and development activities.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive approach to patient care.
- Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team and to organise own workload.
- Previous hospital experience desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Completed the National Care Certificate.
- Functional skills assessment level 2 Maths or English GCSE.
- Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining an Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting at band 2 Health Care Assistant level or equivalent.
- Experience of working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of caring for patients.
- Aware of confidentiality importance.
- Knowledge of infection control & safeguarding processes.
- Competent at a range of clinical duties within 6 months.
- Caring/supportive attitude.
- Able to supervise staff.
