Overview

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual to join the Acute Frailty Hub within the Intermediate Tier Service Division as a Healthcare Assistant. Under the direction of the Sister/Charge Nurse you will help ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care for patients under direct supervision of a registered health professional.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Perform a range of clinical duties and tasks, ensuring actions are undertaken following appropriate training and within competence.
  • Provide training, direction and supervision to junior staff.
  • Assist with infection control and safeguarding processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience supporting Quality Improvement, audits, research and development activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team and to organise own workload.
  • Previous hospital experience desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Completed the National Care Certificate.
  • Functional skills assessment level 2 Maths or English GCSE.
  • Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining an Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting at band 2 Health Care Assistant level or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of caring for patients.
  • Aware of confidentiality importance.
  • Knowledge of infection control & safeguarding processes.
  • Competent at a range of clinical duties within 6 months.
  • Caring/supportive attitude.
  • Able to supervise staff.
