Job Title

Night Care Worker at Together Trust Children’s Home, Lostock, Bolton.

Role Overview

Work two 10‑hour shifts per week on a rotating rota, starting at 21:30 and ending at 07:30. Shifts may be scheduled across weekdays and weekends. The role involves lone working during the night, requiring independence, confidence and the ability to support young people with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs.

Hours & Salary

  • Total hours: 20 per week (2 shifts × 10 hours)
  • Additional shifts available to cover absences
  • Base salary: £13,989.33 per year (pro‑rated from a full‑time salary of £26,230)
  • Time and a quarter premium for weekend shifts and for shifts between 23:00 and 06:00

Responsibilities

  • Attend to the needs of young people during overnight shifts
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions and annual appraisals
  • Participate in Trust training courses and pursue an appropriate QCF qualification (including occasional day shifts for evidence collection)
  • Maintain accurate records of the young people’s care and progress and share them with team members
  • Administer medication and simple medical procedures as required, and complete any necessary training
  • Ensure the security and maintenance of the service during the night

Qualifications & Experience

  • GCSE level education (or equivalent) with flexibility, commitment and motivation
  • Experience working with young people who have disabilities, including recording information and working independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and collaborate with colleagues
  • Must be aged 22 or over at the time of joining the service, in line with Ofsted regulation
