Salary: £31,537 – £34,434 per annum (Grade 5) + 20% unsocial banding

Hours: 36.66 per week

As an RCCW, you will work with young people who are in care, edge of care or children with disability from the age of 5 through to the age of 18. The role works in a multi‑disciplinary team and provides support for children and young people in developing their skills to independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop, monitor and review individual risk assessments, homes support plans, care plans and ensure that all actions resulting from them are followed.
  • To assist young people in dealing with behavioural, emotional, or other difficulties in line with policy, procedure, Children Quality Care Standards and regulation 2015, Supported Accommodation Standards & Regulations.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding in a children and young people’s context.
  • To participate in the professional life of the home and to work as a member of the residential staff team.
  • Accurately complete all relevant records and files in accordance with statutory requirements and home policies.
  • Participate in training, attend staff meetings, and assist with home functions including administration duties.
  • Ensure compliance with regulation frameworks the home falls within and understand OFSTED.
  • To support young people to develop skills and confidence moving on to independent living.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of delivering life skills and/or participation programmes to young people in a youth work, social care, or health setting.
  • At least 1 year’s experience working with children and young people.
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification). Preferably started or completed or competent with qualifications and able to complete level 3 in residential care.
  • Attention to detail ensuring correct information is recorded in all paperwork, keeping this up to date and organised for the manager’s review.
