Early Pregnancy Unit Healthcare Support Worker

We are looking for a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly, multi-disciplinary team in our Early Pregnancy Unit and work collaboratively to provide a seamless service & high-quality care to patients.

Working closely with our brilliant nursing team you will be involved in the direct care to meet the needs of the patients in line with our values – excellent, compassionate and respectful – our procedures and uphold the outpatient philosophy.

Main duties of the job

If successful, some of your duties will include:

  • Prioritising service delivery within the outpatient setting, acknowledging the impact of the decision on other departments
  • Having knowledge of, and act within current Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust Policies and Guidelines
  • Being aware of personal responsibilities regarding risk management procedures g. fire, health, and safety
  • Promoting a positive departmental image by showing a professional and helpful approach to all visitors to the hospital
  • Working with the registered nurse to manage patient care timely and in order of priority depending on the patients’ clinical

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience working with people/ patients directly
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of Early Pregnancy

Qualifications

  • Good level of general education incl. English and Maths GCSE (grade D/4 or above)
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 or an equivalent qualification
  • Basic computer skills
