Introduction

The successful candidate will work towards a Metal Fabricator Level3.

What You’ll Do
As a Fabrication and Welding Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced engineers and learn a wide range of fabrication and welding techniques within a busy aerospace manufacturing environment. Your duties will include:
- Learning TIG, MIG and brazing techniques on stainless steel, aluminium and other materials
- Assisting with the fabrication and assembly of components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions
- Using hand tools, fabrication equipment and measuring instruments
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
- Completing job documentation and following customer specifications
- Maintaining a safe and organised work area in line with Health & Safety and 5S standards
- Working as part of a skilled production team to support the manufacture of aerospace components
- As your skills develop, you will take on increasing responsibility and gain hands‑on experience across all aspects of fabrication and welding
Training Outcome
Potential full‑time contract as a Fabrication and Welding Operative at Nasmyth Qualified Level3 Metal Fabricator.
