Job Summary

Working as a member of the Maintenance Dept., the Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and making necessary repairs throughout the facility. Must have a strong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. A thorough understanding of maintaining a safe work environment is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
  • Provide accurate estimates of any repairs needed.
  • Perform repairs and troubleshoot issues related to equipment, machinery, and building structures.
  • Maintain and repair welders, hand and power tools, hoists, saws and other equipment.
  • Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and emergencies.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address facility-related needs.
  • Assist in the setup and organization of workspaces, including moving and assembling furniture or equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and landscaping as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis in accordance with written procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Track and log required daily/weekly/annual inspections.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area and keep inventory of all tools.
  • Support a safe culture by adhering to and advocating for the safest behaviors and proactively identifying opportunities to mitigate job‑related risks and hazards.
  • Level I: Provide support in estimating repairs needed, assist in performing basic to intermediate repairs under supervision, learn to maintain and repair various equipment and tools, aid in keeping records of maintenance work.
  • Level II: Provide accurate estimates for repairs independently, perform intermediate to complex repairs in a safe and timely manner with minimal supervision, maintain and repair various equipment and tools, keep accurate records of maintenance work, conduct preventative maintenance based on written procedures and manufacturer recommendations, and track and log required inspections regularly.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (Technical or Vocational graduate preferred).
  • At least 2+ years of maintenance experience, industrial facility preferred.
  • Knowledge in single-phase electrical is required; three‑phase knowledge is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to perform all physical requirements including walking, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Good working knowledge of welding and fabricating equipment.
  • Knowledge in basic/advanced construction is a plus.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self‑starter able to multitask while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills.
  • May be required to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
