Role:

We are hiring on behalf of our clients, who include leading mechanical engineering firms, industrial manufacturing plants, facilities management providers, and water/power utilities contractors. Because specific projects vary heavily from site to site, we are looking for versatile, skilled Mechanical Fitters capable of installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of mechanical systems and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and align industrial machinery, plant equipment, pipework, and mechanical systems according to technical engineering drawings.
• Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault-finding, and reactive breakdown repairs on mechanical assets.
• Overhaul and refurbish mechanical components such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, and conveyors.
• Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers, dial test indicators) to ensure equipment meets exact tolerances.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free working area, execute proper isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and strictly adhere to all site health and safety guidelines, RAMS, and protective equipment regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter within industrial, manufacturing, construction, or water/utilities environments.
• CSCS Card (Skilled Workercard preferred)
• Health & Safety: A full and thorough understanding of on-site health and safety regulations, including mechanical isolation (LOTO), working in confined spaces (where applicable), risk awareness, and proper use of PPE.
• Qualifications (Desirable): NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or Fitting is highly advantageous.
• Possession of your own comprehensive set of standard hand tools and calibrated measuring equipment.

• Conveyor & Materials Handling: Industrial conveyor systems, sorting machinery, and automated lines.
• Pipework & Valves: Structural pipe systems, pneumatic/hydraulic lines, and fluid control valves.
• Heavy Plant Machinery: Industrial processing plant equipment, water treatment machinery, and HVAC plant.
