Service Technician

Responsibilities
Your role: Working within London Heathrow Airport, the Service Technician will be performing maintenance duties to ensure productivity and output, equipment availability, health & safety compliance and quality. You will be performing the following tasks:
- Ensuring a top condition of the various installations
- Responsible for performing malfunction and maintenance work as well as carrying out preventive and periodic maintenance, in collaboration with colleagues.
- Resolving mechanical, electrical and any control technical faults
Physical Requirements
- Walking and Mobility: This role requires extensive walking, including navigating various levels of the baggage systems and working at heights. Candidates must be comfortable with prolonged periods of walking and standing.
- Heavy Lifting: The position involves lifting and moving heavy objects including baggage, motors, and rollers, with weights up to 75kg. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be always followed.
- Restrictive Spaces: Work will frequently take place in restrictive spaces. Candidates should be able to work comfortably in tight areas and follow all safety guidelines for such environments.
- Noise Levels: The work environment may have high noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, and adherence to safety regulations regarding noise exposure is mandatory.
- Any pre-existing medical history that you feel may affect your ability to perform the duties of the role, must be taken into consideration when applying.
Qualifications
- You are in possession of a City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 or above in maintenance mechanical / electrical discipline.
- Willing to work shifts including nights.
- Experience with maintenance planning.
Nice to have
- 18th Edition (BS 7671 / wiring regs).
- You have gained experience within an FMCG manufacturing or automated environment.
- Experience in training/coaching.
