Job Description:

Position Summary

As a member of the Weld department team, working on the 1400-2200 shift (38 hours/week) Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for tacking and welding metal components as per drawing, checking the quality of parts before and after the welding process.

Responsibilities

  • Tacking and welding metal components according to drawings.
  • Checking quality of parts before and after the welding process.
  • Measuring parts before and after weld against drawings.
  • Grinding and fettling product using air and electric hand tools.
  • Performing other duties outside of your function or trade as required, with training provided.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Willing to work flexibly.

Qualifications

  • Ability to weld to AWSD1.1 and AWSD15.1 welding standards.
  • Ability to read drawings.
  • Team player with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Practical, hands-on approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy equipment with magnetic and chain/strap hoists.

Training

Required to pass a Bearward standard welding test. On commencement of employment, training to the BS EN ISO 5817 welding standard will be provided.

Physical Demands

A manual environment with frequent lifting of heavy equipment using magnetic hoists and chain/strap hoists.
