Support Security Officer (Leeds area, split shifts)
£13.45 per hour.
Job Overview
Provide security services to protect the customer’s property, people and assets in accordance with the site’s Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent updates.
Responsibilities
- Protect customers’ property, people and assets by following the Assignment Instructions and any changes.
- Deliver results that meet and/or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer, ensuring full responsibility and accountability to help retain the contract.
- Undertake additional training for continuous self‑development.
Operations
- Comply with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and UK law.
- Carry out all tasks and duties on site as defined in the published Assignment Instructions.
- Review the Assignment Instructions for changes and propose amendments that improve service levels.
- Hold and display a front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and a CCTV PSS SIA Licence at all times while on duty. Renew licences 16 weeks before expiry.
- Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Work systematically, methodically and orderly.
Training
- Complete all required competency training.
- Engage in further training directed by the Security Account Manager to enhance professional development.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and expand job knowledge.
Security and Health & Safety
- Identify and report Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards immediately.
- Remain alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruptions, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative; involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct during difficult situations and with challenging customers.
- Record accurate notebook entries promptly after incidents for use in Incident Reports.
- Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- Ensure check calls occur at the allocated times as specified in the Assignment Instructions.
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Qualifications
- Previous security experience.
- SIA licence.
- SC clearance desirable.
