Social Worker – Family Help – North Locality, Leominster, Herefordshire. Permanent contract, 37 hours per week.
Salary: HC8 £36,363 – £40,777 per annum, with a £5,000 market rate supplement and £10,000 welcome payment. Senior Practitioner role at £41,363 – £45,777.
The Role
As a Social Worker within the Family Help team, you will support children, young people, and their families to achieve positive outcomes. Your responsibilities include:
- Managing a complex caseload and acting as Family Help Lead Practitioner.
- Assessing needs, identifying risks, and developing tailored Family Help Plans.
- Leading and contributing to child protection meetings, core group and strategy discussions.
- Conducting risk assessments, safeguarding work and coordinating multi-agency support.
- Maintaining accurate records, writing reports, including court work and decision-making.
- Building restorative relationships with families and professionals.
About You
Qualifications and experience:
- Qualified Social Worker (Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent) with current Social Work England registration.
- Experience working with children and families in a statutory social care setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
- Ability to assess risk, analyse complex family dynamics and deliver effective interventions.
- Excellent communication, empathy and restorative practice skills.
- Organised, resilient and able to manage a demanding workload with accurate record keeping.
- Proficiency in IT systems and commitment to high standards of practice.
