Personal Assistant – 01/Kilwinning/DG
Location: Kilwinning, North Ayrshire
Working hours: 20 hours per week, 5 days over 7 (incl. weekends). Flexible with day shift/back shift, some evenings, and weekends on a rota.
Salary: £14.59 per hour, living wage rate, paid 4 weekly in arrears by payroll service.
Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks paid prorated for contracted staff.
Job Purpose: Support a young man who lives in his own home with his dad – personal care, moving and handling, keeping the house clean, cooking, washing, ironing, transport, and travel by car or train.
Probationary period: 6 months with requirement for a new or updated PVG disclosure and two up‑to‑date reference contacts prior to appointment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Moving and handling using both a tracking hoist and a manual hoist.
- Driving a wheelchair‑accessible vehicle.
- Providing full support with all aspects of personal care.
- Supporting with household management – shopping, cooking, cleaning.
- Supporting the person to engage in community life and activities directed by him and his dad.
- Assisting with personal care tasks as directed.
- Being flexible, guided by the employer about activities; may be required to work evenings and cover other staff absences.
- Driving the employer’s car when required to support travel to various locations.
Training
- Moving and assisting certificate required.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Previous experience supporting disabled people.

Other Requirements
