Housing Caseworker / Trainee Housing Caseworker

Qualified NJC Salary Scale Points 18-22 (£31,536 – £33,698)

Trainees NJC Salary Scale points 7-12 (£26,402 – £28,597)

Responsibilities

As a Housing Caseworker, you will work closely with the Housing Solicitor and Money Advice Team in particular, advising clients on a range of housing issues, including homelessness, possession and eviction, disrepair, and renters’ rights. An understanding of eligibility and scope for legal aid would be an advantage. This role is also open to applicants interested in a trainee position. This would suit an experienced generalist adviser or caseworker looking to specialise in housing.

All applicants should be organised, with the ability to work independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to listen, engage and empathise with vulnerable clients.

Requirements

Coordinated, organized, independent work ethic; strong verbal and written communication; listening, engagement and empathy with vulnerable clients. Knowledge of legal aid eligibility and scope is a plus.
