An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Property Services Planned and Adaptations Team for a Technical Support Officer. The successful candidate will work as part of a small, collaborative team of surveyors and administrative staff to support the delivery of both major and minor adaptations across the Council’s housing stock. A strong understanding of, and compliance with, Council policies and procedures is desirable to ensure the effective and consistent delivery of the service.
Responsibilities
- Provide office‑based administrative support to coordinate adaptation works, including liaising with contractors, arranging appointments, and maintaining accurate records and systems.
- Support delivery by ensuring processes are followed and progress is effectively tracked.
- Assist with compliance with relevant legislation, including the Equality Act 2010.
Qualifications
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Tact, diplomacy, and negotiation skills to achieve service objectives and performance targets.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Equality Act 2010 is beneficial.
- A Basic check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
