Job Details
- Band 5 Employment Specialist role at Dorset Work Matters (DWM) based in West Dorset, within a Community Rehabilitation setting.
- Part of the expanding mental health employment support service funded by expansion funding.
- Role offers the opportunity to work closely with NHS teams, employers and partner organisations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly face‑to‑face engagement with local employers to generate tailored job opportunities, including job carving, in line with IPS principles.
- Collaborate with clients to set employment goals, develop CVs and application forms, and prepare for interviews.
- Support clients in deciding whether to disclose their mental health condition to potential employers and provide guidance on this discussion.
- Provide advice and calculations on welfare benefits to help clients make informed employment decisions.
- Deliver ongoing in‑work support to clients and employers, ensuring sustainable employment outcomes.
- Adhere to the quality standards and compliance requirements of the IPS Fidelity Model, striving to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records in line with Service and IPS Fidelity Model requirements.
- Perform a high volume of administrative duties with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in reporting, documentation and data entry.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience or motivation in supporting individuals with mental health conditions to secure sustainable employment.
- Knowledge of IPS principles and the IPS Fidelity Model is an asset.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by the Trust).
- Full and valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel using own vehicle for Trust business.
- Excellent communication, organisational and record‑keeping skills.
