Pastoral Support Officer
This role is vital for supporting the wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and safeguarding of students. The officer will provide pastoral care, promote positive behaviour, and work closely with families, external agencies and academy staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Monitor and promote positive behaviour, attendance and punctuality.
- Work closely with families, external agencies and academy staff to support student wellbeing.
- Support safeguarding processes and follow academy policies and procedures.
- Contribute to intervention strategies that improve student engagement, achievement and outcomes.
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above.
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and student wellbeing practices.
Pay
Pay range: NJC 16‑25 Inner London. £31,916.39 – £37,320.85 (FTE £34,518 – £40,363). 37 hours per week, 41 weeks per year.
