Job Title: Senior Social Worker

Starting Salary: £42,839 progressing to £47,181 per annum (pro rata for part time) + £2k welcome payment, relocation & car lease schemes (terms apply) – pay award pending

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Hertfordshire

Contract Type: Permanent

Directorate: Adult Care Services

Responsibilities

• Coordinating different social workers and support services
• Managing schedules and handling issues or concerns within the community
• Providing emotional support and guidance to individuals and families
• Assessing and reviewing the situations of individuals and families
• Organising and managing packages of support to enable people to lead fuller lives
• Making referrals to other agencies and participating in multidisciplinary teams
• Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for legal action

Essential Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker (SWE) with at least 2 years post-qualified experience
• Full driving licence
• Successfully completed ASYE program and adheres to Social Work England professional standards
• Experience with Care Act assessments for eligible current and historical cases using Connected Lives strategy
• Confirmation of specialist role (e.g. AMHP, Best Interest Assessor, Practice Educator) or commitment to undertake within appointment

Location & Working Arrangements

Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Locations include Hemel Hempstead, Watford and other Hertfordshire sites.

Required Checks and Skills

• Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check required
• Ability to drive and/or travel within Hertfordshire
• Fluency in English, including spoken and written communication
