Role Overview
Me Time is Mencap’s social inclusion, leisure and community‑led programme, supporting people with a learning disability to develop the skills and confidence to build relationships and be fully included in their local community. As a Relief Community Inclusion Facilitator you will work as a valued member of a team, be flexible, and support people. Your role is to develop and offer a range of responsive direct individual and group activities to people with a learning disability accessing the Me Time Programme in Nottingham.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in a way that enables the people being supported to make decisions and choices and encourage trying new opportunities in line with the life each person chooses to lead.
- Ensure that plans we put in place for the people we support are person‑centred and that the person is fully involved in all aspects of the planning and review process.
- Be creative, dynamic, and adaptable to potential challenging scenarios in relation to the needs of the people we support.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of people being supported, monitor each person’s progress, and report on the impact that the programme has on the lives of people.
- Complete all recording requirements in a timely manner and ensure high‑quality reporting and case studies.
- Communicate with the people being supported with dignity and respect.
- Support colleagues to build community networks, share contacts and connections, raise concerns using the appropriate channels, particularly in relation to safeguarding.
- Be flexible and be able to work from different locations and on different projects within the community.
- Recognise that the Me Time model is person‑centred and focused on improving quality of life for the people engaged on the programme, and on providing pathways to other opportunities such as volunteering or employment.
