Graduate Learning Support Assistant

Are you a graduate who has a passion for supporting children and young people with SEN? Would you like to support pupils overcome barriers to learning, ensuring they receive a truly inclusive education? Join this fantastic secondary school in Stockport and truly make a difference for the full academic year from September 2026!

This role is ideal for a graduate looking to gain some school-based experience, prior to further study.

Role Overview

  • Based in Stockport – other schools in other local boroughs are also available.
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Work with pupils who have additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, medical needs and more.
  • Receive excellent support from the school and Aspire People.
  • Long-term position – paid 95-104 per day.
  • Work Monday-Friday school hours 8:30-3:30, term time only.
  • DBS check required, safeguarding training provided.

Requirements

  • Degree 2:2 or above, ideally psychology but any subject considered.
  • Level 3 TA qualification will also be considered.
  • Experience or knowledge of SEN.
  • Confident and enthusiastic, with a love of learning.
  • Passionate about education and supporting children with SEN.
