Opportunity

We are looking to expand our Production Technician team on our night shift. The production technicians play a key role in setting, running and maintaining our special‑purpose manufacturing machinery, working across three business areas. Our production technicians work on a shift basis to keep our machines running 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. The successful candidate will have previous manufacturing experience working with automated machines and be willing to learn our unique product line. This is a demanding role that requires a high attention to detail. Positions are available in our Tape & Reel and our Robot departments but may be cross‑trained in another discipline should there be a business need.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setting and running special-purpose automated machinery.
  • Fault finding and repairing special‑purpose automated machinery.
  • Compiling quality documentation throughout the run of a job (first off, last off and in‑process inspection).
  • Using ERP system to process the work through to the next step of the manufacturing process.
  • Using technical drawings to ensure parts are made to correct specifications.
  • Using CMM and other measuring equipment.
  • Using vision systems for quality control during the manufacturing process.
  • Working to EN9100 standards – strictly following manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Performing patrol inspections – visually checking produced parts to ensure no faults or defects.
  • Working as part of a team to share knowledge and best‑practice guidance on machine settings and utilisation.
  • Being aware of machine utilisation and efficiently leasing with team members and supervisors to ensure optimisation of each machine.
  • Using the maintenance ticketing system to log machine faults and effectively communicating machine issues/faults to Production Support teams.
  • Observing and supporting Production Support teams to fix breakdowns and overcome any issues.
  • Being responsible for FOD and 5S within the manufacturing area.
  • Working on in‑house automated machines to achieve production targets to meet business requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience using manual tools.
  • Mechanically minded with experience of automated machines (advantage but not essential).
  • Experience working to technical drawings would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work to high quality standards.
  • Ability to work to targets & KPIs.
  • Capability and readiness to adhere to both verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team – essential.
