What you will be doing:
In this rewarding role, youwill:
- Coordinatereferrals, undertaking initial assessments and triage, and ensuring people receive the mostappropriate supportfor their needs.
- Managewaiting lists,caseloadsand service allocations to ensuretimelyaccess to bereavement support.
- Facilitatebereavement support groups and coordinating the staff and volunteers who help deliver these services.
- Manage recruiting, training,supervisingand supporting volunteers, ensuring they feel confident,safeand valued in their role.
- Provide compassionate bereavement support to individuals and families through face-to-face sessions, telephone calls, videoappointmentsand support groups.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure families receive information, guidance and support following bereavement.
- Provideemotional and psychological support to bereaved individuals andidentifyingwhenadditionalspecialist support or external referrals may berequired.
- Liaisewith healthcare professionals and community organisations to provide a joined-up approach to bereavement care.
- Coordinatebereavement-related events and encouraging participation from staff,volunteersand the wider community.
- Maintainaccuraterecords, managing service administration and ensuring all activity meets Marie Curie policies and professional standards.
- Contributeto multidisciplinary team meetings and supporting the wider priorities andobjectivesof Marie Curie.
What we’re looking for:
- A recognised counselling qualification (DipHE, Foundation Degree in Counselling, or equivalent).
- Professional membership of BACP, IABACP, or another recognised counselling/psychotherapybody.
- Experience supporting people affected by bereavement, loss, or end-of-life issues.
- The ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams,volunteersand external partners.
- Excellent organisational skills, with experience managing referrals and caseloads.
Salary:
Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band6 £43,231 to £52,679 prorata per annum
Contract:
Permanent Part Time 30 hours per week
