The Role
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils across the school.
- Support students with their emotional well‑being, behaviour, and personal development.
- Work closely with teachers, SEND professionals, and families to provide consistent support.
- Assist with behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
- Help pupils regulate emotions and develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Support students during lessons, break times, and enrichment activities where required.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of all pupils is always prioritised.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an education, SEND, youth work, care, or pastoral setting.
- Calm, patient, and able to build strong professional relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidently manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners to achieve success.
- Relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
