General Maintenance Operative

General Maintenance Operative Location: Ashford | Salary: £17p/h

We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused General Maintenance Operative to join our Repairs & Maintenance team. This is a varied, hands‑on role where you’ll be the first response to damp and mould cases, carrying out repairs and remedial works that help us meet our responsibilities under Awaab’s Law.

What you’ll do

• Respond to damp and mould cases and carry out first‑response repairs.
• Diagnose and complete minor repairs, including basic leak repairs.
• Undertake mould treatments and remedial works.
• Carry out general maintenance to occupied and void properties.
• Support void property turnaround with tasks including: Lock changes.
• Minor plumbing, carpentry and decorating repairs.
• Property clearances.
• Making homes safe and ready to let.

What you’ll bring

• Experience in property maintenance or building repairs.
• A trade background in Carpentry, Plumbing or Painting & Decorating.
• Multi‑skilled maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of basic building defects, leaks and damp issues.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
