Goodwin Academy are seeking a Learning Support Assistant at their vibrant and engaging, state of the art mixed academy based in the heart of Deal. The successful candidate will work as directed by the SENCO with individual students and groups of students, supporting with the monitoring of progress for individuals. Due to the nature of the role a patient, caring and compassionate approach is needed.
This post is suitable if you are looking to build your experience working with SEND pupils.
Responsibilities
- Have experience supporting learning in the classroom (primary or secondary).
- Assist in the promotion of high standards of behaviour and conduct.
- Be a team player with great communication and organisational skills.
- Support colleagues as directed in all aspects of learning, personal development and emotional literacy.
Our Learning Support Assistant will also have the ability to work calmly under pressure and to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Experience of supporting learning in a classroom setting (primary or secondary).
- Ability to promote positive behaviour and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills; works well in a team.
- Willingness to support colleagues in all aspects of learning, personal development and emotional literacy.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Experience of SCLN would be highly desirable.
