Role Summary
Join a committed and established residential service supporting children and young people aged 8‑18 with additional needs. Work at either Avondale or Trackside bungalows providing short‑break care for disabled young people.
Responsibilities
- Work a flexible rota, including weekends, bank holidays, evenings and shift variations.
- Provide personal, medical and support care including PEG feeding, oxygen therapy, and other specialist needs.
- Ensure each child feels safe, secure and receives normal routine care.
- Collaborate with families, Multi‑Agency Teams and external professionals to help children progress toward their goals.
- Complete required training and maintain record keeping as per service standards.
- Support children in developing personal and social skills in a nurturing environment.
Shift Schedule
- Early shift: 7 am – 2:30 pm
- Late shift: 2:30 pm – 10 pm
Qualifications
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, or a commitment to obtain a Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner apprenticeship within two years.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- 21 years or older.
- Relevant experience working with children/young people with complex needs, disabilities or SEND.

- Salary: £34,434 – £38,220 for 37 hours (pro‑rata £27,919 – £30,989 for 30 hours).
