Church Community Engagement Leader

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with local residents, community groups, and organisations.
• Identify and develop opportunities for the church to engage meaningfully with neighbourhood life.
• Create informal, creative and relational spaces where people can explore faith at their own pace.
• Provide pastoral presence and chaplaincy within community settings.
• Work alongside the ministry team to integrate new relationships into the wider life of the church.

Qualifications

• A genuine gift for relationship building.
• Ability to work without a fixed programme, being creative, patient and self‑motivated.
• Understanding that community mission is a long game.
• Ability to represent The Salvation Army with warmth and without pressure.
• Committed and practising Christian, actively involved with your Church and in sympathy with the doctrines, purposes and objectives of The Salvation Army.
