Enquiry and Referral Coordinator – Full time (37 hours). Fixed term until 31.12.26. Salary: NCC Band 5 £28,598 – £31,022. An exciting opportunity to join the Safeguarding Enquiry and Referral Coordinator Team at Eddie Ferguson House, Blyth.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend daily Police Notification Meetings and complete all associated follow‑up actions, including emails, adding contacts, and recording MASH Police Triage notes on Azeus.
- Manage safeguarding referrals within the central safeguarding referrals inbox.
- Process open safeguarding referrals, ensuring contacts are recorded on Azeus, referrers are notified, and referrals are forwarded to locality teams.
- Handle inappropriate referrals by recording contacts on Azeus, notifying referrers and relevant teams (where allocated), and updating systems such as the Falls spreadsheet where required.
- Process inappropriate referrals for prevention services by referring to LAH via Azeus and notifying referrers accordingly.
- Appropriately signpost referrals to partner agencies, including Children’s Services, CNTW, and Harbour, in line with safeguarding team guidance.
- Monitor and respond to inbox queries from referrers requesting safeguarding outcomes, providing timely responses via phone or email.
- Undertake follow‑up communication with referrers to gather additional information to support safeguarding decision‑making.
- Respond to probation service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Carry out research for multi‑agency processes, including MARAC, MATAC, and MAPPA.
- Complete Police and Adult Safeguarding (PAS) checks as required.
- Provide coordination support, including Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs), and deliver ad hoc administrative support to the safeguarding team.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and enthusiasm for ensuring the Northumberland County Council values of residents first, excellence and quality, and community safety are upheld.
Qualifications
- Good general education demonstrating numeracy and literacy.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an admin/business related discipline or equivalent experience.
