Youth Worker – Youth Support

Job Overview

2 to 4 hours per week, Term Time. 3 positions available.

An exciting opportunity has been created within our Youth Support Service to provide open access support to young people of Bridgend.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a needs‑led provision that meets the needs of young people in line with the five aims identified in the Youth Work Strategy for Wales.
• Perform duties primarily in the evenings (minimum of two evenings per week) with occasional weekend work.
• Work in a variety of settings including street‑based settings as service needs dictate.
• Protect children, young people or adults at risk – a core responsibility of all council employees.
• Greet customers in Welsh; fluency in Welsh is required.

Requirements

• Full valid driving licence.
• Enhanced DBS check with Children’s Barred List clearance.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Fluency in Welsh.
